Sweet Huckleberry — “Huck” — has found the perfect home with my dear friends Peggy and Darin at their beautiful Mesa View Homestead in Olathe, Colorado. The name “Huckleberry” means you’re right for the job, and I can’t think of a more fitting name for this sweet, sensitive boy.
He’ll be joining two other Colorado Mountain Dogs, along with goats, chickens, and alpacas — a true guardian’s dream. Huck quickly won all of us over with his affectionate nature, and though he never loved car rides (and often cried himself to sleep), I couldn’t be more at peace knowing he’s in such loving hands.
Peggy and Darin have been dear friends since our children were babies — now all grown into young adults — and I’ve had the joy of seeing their warmth and the devotion they give to every creature in their care. My heart is full knowing that sweet Huck will be loved and cherished just the same.
